Sea Glass is a well run and excellent company to work with in the USVI. Our experiences have been very good and Sea Glass is very professional. It is a truly knowledgeable and well run real estate company on St. Thomas.

Barbara Birt testimonial From being the Realtor of the year to president of her board of Realtors, and associating herself with a real estate company with the best mobile site (Sea Glass Properties), I didn't need much more than that to decide to work with her for my St Thomas home buying needs... As a former Realtor myself, I know what it takes to accomplish those accolades - it means she works hard, knows and schmoozes with everyone (is privy to what's coming on the market before anyone else knows), is highly respected and liked by her peers, and is honest with a strong work ethic to boot. That's how you get to be the #1 Realtor, and it's my first hand experience that being the best Realtor on the island is indeed what she is - actually, Barbara Birt is the best Realtor I've ever worked with even beyond St Thomas too. Some of the things I liked about Barbara were... * She texts and responds to her email within minutes - she's an expert communicator and was always available. * She knows everyone: she put me in touch with my architect, builder, lawyer, surveyor, mortgage broker, title company, home inspector, insurance agent, and even a prospective business partner and a couple of her friends - she was a one-stop source to the top professionals in their fields, everyone communicated with each other during the whole process, and we had a stress free smooth closing within 30 days (she knows how to overcome people operating on island time). * After closing, most Realtors would do nothing more then count their commission. However, Barbara ensured not only my deal went smooth, but also my transition to the island lifestyle was perfect. She personally acquired the meter number from the sellers, printed out a copy of my recorded deed and brought me to the electric company (Wapa), so that they'd merely switch names rather than disconnect power and have to wait days to reconnect (and for a higher fee) - I was able to stay in my new place that night rather than having no power and requiring a hotel fee till they came out. * Being off the island for the majority of the process, it was awesome that Barbara arranged times for all her teammates to enter the house. She met and let in my surveyor, my architect (twice), and builder so that they could take measurements - she made herself available at all times, pushed/demanded others to hurry and be on time with appointments and schedules, and she hustled to get everyone working so that we could close early and finish remodelling before hurricane season started. She's a doer and made things happen - I didn't experience any island time moments with her supervising her/my team. In addition to being my Realtor, she also played the role of project manager. * I especially loved how she brought me to her special grocery store (the fruit bowl) right after closing so that I could buy staples for my family's first week at our new home. * Before our first showing, she was instrumental in helping us pick which homes to see, because she already saw them - I didn't have to waste time seeing something that she knew I wouldn't want (like the beautiful listing that didn't mention the foundation problem and inhabitable status). * Although we could afford up to $800k, she understood our needs and our priority of placing a view above all else. She showed us a dinky-sized home with the "best view on the island up to our price range". Even though it was only $300k, she said this is "The View", and since we had to wait four months to actually move all our stuff from Illinois, she connected us to a builder that could double the size - she looked out for OUR best interests despite a huge commission reduction. And, that's the home we bought. After closing, and while still in Illinois, she's watching over the home and has volunteered to help get Internet for us before we arrive back. We're so grateful we met Barbara Birt who found a beautiful Caribbean home with the best panoramic views for us.

I felt like they saw us as a burden not a potential customer. They showed us a few places, but they were on the phone with other customers the whole time. Just get a craigslist and find your own place.

The company CAN NOT be trusted. They are out for themselves and will lie to you and cheat you for their benefit. STAY AWAY from them. There are several good realtors on island. Sea Glass is not one of them.

We decided to invest in a vacation rental property on St. Thomas and came for a short exploratory visit in January 2014. Not knowing much about the various areas of the island and what would be a good fit for us, Karen Korsgren was an amazing resource and help in bringing us up to speed and quickly helped us narrow down the areas and properties we should focus on. We had no expectation that in our four day search we would be able to find something, but thanks to Karen we did! We'd never met her or had any correspondence before arriving on island, and were so lucky she was available when we walked into the Sea Glass Properties office at Yacht Haven Grande looking for assistance because she's the best realtor we've ever had! She is very professional, knowledgeable, always responds quickly to questions or setting up appointments and is great at communicating with you whether it's text, email or a phone call. Best of all is she genuinely cares about finding the right property for you, not just making a sale and getting a commission, and her ethics are without question. The process from start to finish was not only smooth but also enjoyable, all thanks to Karen. We highly recommend Sea Glass Properties and Karen Korsgren and wouldn't hesitate to work with her again in the future!
