  We had a perfect experience picking up the car. Was reminded to take photos with our telephone in case there was any question regarding prior damage. The drop off also went without a hitch. Renting the car here and taking it on the car ferry to St John saved us lots of rental cost.

  Rented a jeep... No jeeps available. After 45 minutes I was given a Nissan with no discount on rate. Valerie was as nice but the facility and I believe, the manager, was in total chaos!

  Terrible customer service, rude, and even with my reservation they didnt have a car. Use any rental place other than this one.

  I was hesitant about reserving a car due to the bad reviews, but its location won out. The budget we used was located in the Charlotte Amalie airport and Debbie there was terrific both days. We rented a car but due to more people needing to ride with us we needed something bigger and she came through. Great service with her.

  Chiming in from an experience in 2007! Had a minivan reserved at Budget at the Charlotte Amalie cruise pier (family of 6). I must have confirmed that reservation and been assured that there would be a minivan available 3 or more times! But no. When we arrived, we were ignored for a good 10 minutes while the employee finished a personal phone call--never acknowledging us. Then she began the paperwork process v e r y s l o w l y! and finally informed us that they didn't have any vehicles on site. The solution she offered was for us to take a taxi to the airport. I called the company we were kayaking with, and they said if we did that, we would never make our tour. I ran next door to Avis, and the woman who helped us was amazing! She was friendly, prompt, and magically produced a minivan even though I told her we would take anything and we did not have a reservation. I tried to tip her, and she was also gracious. We had more fun that day than any port. Had it not been for Avis, our day would have been a disaster. I'm in the process of reserving a car in Hawaii, and I happened to come across Budget's reviews for St. Thomas. I laughed out loud when I saw the 1 star rating. If Budget is still in business, run away.
