::What a headache! We made our reservation through Expedia and selected a Volkswagen Beetle or similar for $38. When we got there, there was a Beetle available, but got the Passat. I didn't care much because I just wanted to get out of there, but the explanation from the employee was that the reservation was for ”Beetle or similar” for $38 and that the Passat was $38 and the Beetle was $83. I asked again and got the same answer, but since I didn't care much, I overlooked it. My wife had made the reservation for 2:30pm, at the time our flight landed, but calling the shuttle (4min), waiting for the shuttle (6min), going off airport (8min), inspecting the car (±10min) plus paperwork (10min) and my questions of the area (10min) it was almost 3:40pm. The employee (who seemed in training) asked "so, return time is 2:30pm?" To which I replied "of course not: return time is the same as now when we took it off the lot" which was 3:40pm. The car had two heavy dents. I feel bad for the poor souls who got charged extra to fix this, then the car rental company never did and most probably pocketed the money (Don't get me wrong: it's their money and they can do whatever they want with it, but if they charge insurance or expenses to fix, they should fix the cars!). On our way back, we made it before 3:40pm. The employee came down to check on gas and to do a visual inspection and no problem. We moved our bags from the rental car to the airport shuttle and the employee came back with my invoice wishing me a good trip. I stopped and looked at the invoice and I was being refunded the extra $200 deposit just for using AmEx, which I was ok with, BUT they were charging me for four days@$38/day as agreed PLUS $20 for an extra hour! When I asked the employee to explain, she said that I should ignore the details and just focus on the total, but I noticed the total included the $20 for an extra hour. I asked the employee to explain to me why I was being charged an extra $20 to which she said she didn't understand the question and passed me with her supervisor. The supervisor said that unfortunately I had returned the car late, therefore I had to pay the extra hour for $20. I told her I was not going to pay extra because I had made it in time well before 3:40pm. She clarified that the return time was 3:40pm indeed, but that the time we took the rental out was 3:37pm. I told her we had all agreed it was 3:40pm and she explained the employee had printed out the contract at 3:37pm and entered the return time at 3:40pm, therefore the system was charging me the extra hour. I apologized that unfortunately I was not going to pay $20 because I made it even earlier back. The supervisor said she'd have to look at the timestamps of the security cameras then looked straight at me, seemed like waiting for me to tell her to forget it because I would miss my flight, like some sort of scare tactic. To her surprise, I told her to go ahead and look to security cameras timestamps and that I could wait. After almost 10min, she stands up, prints a paper and gives me a refund without saying anything else. When I asked, she said that they adjusted the return time time to 3:34pm. I thanked her and left in the shuttle. Travelers beware: they have good prices, but could end up costing you more in the long run. I might rent from them again, but will check every single item in the car inspection and charges. Take a look at the pictures at rental taken in their lot before leaving their property (mileage 80,041 at 4:56pm on the panel, which was 1hr ahead and nobody seem to care and fix them, so I fixed it for them, so we pulled the car out of the lot at 3:56pm) and return time taken as soon as I pulled into the lot, which the employee came along 1-2min later (mileage 80,126 at 3:29pm). Also, my rental was the black Passat in the profile pic, tag TEX682, so it seems their inventory is not really that big
